Venezuela Pt. 1

Sunday, 30 June 2013 14:05
Last days in Bogota... We had a lot of goodbye parties, dinners and lunches. I had to say goodbye to a lot of new friends. It's always hard to say goodbye! Getting to know people for 4 months and then letting them go... Sometimes you think that it would be better that you would have never met them in the first place, but you would miss so much not meeting them, not knowing them, It's a privilege to have the chance and meet new people and make new friends. Some enter your life for a reason, some for a…

Carnival in Barranquilla

Tuesday, 19 February 2013 02:39
Our first travel in Colombia and we are off to the Caribbean coast to see the carnival in Barranquilla! The bus ride is really long, it takes about 20 hours for about 1000 kilometres to get from Bogotá to the coast, but it is the cheapest way. The bus costs about 70.000 pesos which is about 30 Euros and the plane ticket at the same time would be about 300.000 pesos (125€), so it is worth it. After passing a couple of accidents on the road, waiting in traffic jams, lunch breaks and about 20 hours we finally arrive to Barranquilla. A quick cab ride of…

Successful first round of raising funds

With great pleasure I can say that the first round of raising funds to help build an orphanage in India – Chennai was very successful. Together with our donation the total amount of funds already raised is about 65% of the whole investment. That means that our job is not finished and the fundraising continues, so please spread the word J   I would like to thank all of the 25 donors, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU very much; people…

Time to leave home once again

Sunday, 03 February 2013 14:13
Monday 14th of January, last presentation at the faculty and it is time to leave home once again. Say goodbye to all my friends and family. I've always sucked at goodbyes, because it's sad but you're excited and happy to leave and at the same time you are scared and unsure what will happen. Good and extraordinary things will happen, amazing experiences, people and new friends ahead, but at the same time bad things, pain and suffering. Nevertheless things will happen and that is the most important thing! Definitely leaving my comfort zone and ready for a new adventure.    …
